Carefully select either a FACE-TO-FACE or ONLINE appointment, as indicated in the parentheses next to the Writing Specialist's name. Click on a WHITE square with your time preference, then fill the pop-up appointment form. Remember that the WHITE squares are the AVAILABLE times.


Online Appointments:

1. Ten minutes before your appointment, log into the appointment system (

2. Return to this schedule and open your appointment

3. You will see the words in red: "Start or Join Online Consultation" 

4. Click on the red text: "Start or Join Online Consultation" 

5. This will open the appointment window.

6. Please read the instructions.

7. There is a square on the top right of the page with two arrows, each arrow pointing in the opposite direction. Click on that square to upload your writing assignment.

8. Then you will "chat" with the Writing Specialist in the chat box in the lower right-hand corner of the screen.


Please remember:

1. Have a copy of your original assignment instructions

2. Online appointments are one hour long, while Face-to-face appointments are scheduled in 30 minute or 1 hour blocks

3. You are permitted a maximum of one appointment, per day.  

4. We are located in Room #238 of the Mabee Library, Mon-Thurs from 1-6pm

WELCOME TO THE UIW GRADUATE SUPPORT CENTER'S WCONLINE! To get started, please register for an account by clicking the link to the left, then note the following:

  1. After registering, you may schedule a FACE-TO-FACE or ONLINE appointment. Please select the correct type of appointment (ONLINE or FACE-TO-FACE), as indicated in parentheses next to the Writing Specialist's name.
  2. Click on the WHITE square with the desired time and fill the appointment pop-up form.
  3. Visit us in the MABEE LIBRARY, ROOM #238, Mondays-Thursdays from 1:00-6:00pm for Face-to-Face appointments. 
  4. ONLINE appointments vary, please see the schedule and read the posted instructions for scheduling/attending online sessions.
  5. You may modify or cancel your writing session by accessing your original appointment. WCOnline will automatically send you & the Writing Specialists emails regarding any changes made to your appointment.
  6. FACE-TO-FACE appointments are scheduled in 30 minute-1 hour blocks, while ONLINE sessions are scheduled for 1 hour.
  7. WCOnline sends a post-appointment evaluation in an email. You are encouraged to complete this post-session evaluation, as it will be used towards refining our support services.
  8. While you are welcomed to drop in and see us, scheduled appointments have the first priority.
  9. Writing Specialists will not simply edit or proofread your paper, so please be prepared for a working session.
  10. You will need the following information when scheduling/attending your appointment:
  • UIW ID number (PIDM)
  • Contact info (email/phone)
  • Academic program
  • Course/Professor name
  • Assignment type, type of assistance you are seeking, assignment due date
  • Copy of your original assignment
  • Your laptop for Face-to-Face appointments (optional)
